I am Gayawan, the founder and CEO of Gayawan Photography. My journey into photography began in the early days of black-and-white film, driven by a fascination with capturing timeless stories through the lens. While studying Engineering at the University of Maiduguri, I discovered the art of photography as a creative outlet to balance my technical studies. A single unforgettable shoot during a friend’s wedding on a Motorola Razr V3 Classic Flip Phone sparked a passion that would eventually become my life’s work.

That first wedding shoot wasn’t just a spark; it was a revelation that capturing the joy and essence of people’s most precious moments could be my life’s work. This passion continues to fuel my drive every day.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of evolving alongside the technological shifts in photography. From the days of black-and-white film to the digital revolution and the rise of DSLR cameras, I’ve embraced every stage of advancement. I experimented with the versatility of zoom lenses, the possibilities offered by digital editing, and the compact power of mirrorless cameras. With each new stage, I pushed my boundaries and refined my craft, constantly striving to stay ahead of the curve.
